Toy Tech (Part-Time) — Portland, Oregon
Join us in making strange, beautiful, made-to-order toys for adults who still love to play.
We’re a small, independent studio looking for a hands-on Toy Tech to help build, finish, and ship our products. This is a part-time role, ideal for makers, artists, and tinkerers who enjoy working independently and want to learn how toys (and toy businesses) are made.
What You’ll Do
- Assemble toys and accessory components
- Work with 3D-printed parts (prep, finishing, assembly)
- Prepare sub-assemblies for production
- Pack and ship customer orders
- Maintain clean workspace + basic inventory tracking
The work is physical, detail-oriented, and repetitive — but deeply satisfying if you like making things well and building flow-state skills.
Who You Are
- You like working with your hands and seeing tangible results
- You’re self-directed, reliable, and focused
- You enjoy pattern-based, repetitive work
- You’re curious about 3D printing, product design, and small-batch manufacturing
- You take pride in doing things correctly, not just quickly
No prior experience required — just attention, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
Hours & Location
- 20–30 hours per week, flexible schedule
- In-person role at our studio off Mississippi Ave, Portland OR
- Small, creative, low-drama environment
Compensation
$20/hr 1099
Term
- 1-month trial
- Potential to continue as an ongoing role for the right fit
Perks
- Flexible schedule
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing, toy design, and micro-manufacturing
- Direct mentorship from founder (design, craft, and business)
- Creative environment where your work actually matters
Why This Matters
We’re building weird, meaningful objects with zero waste, on-demand manufacturing, and a creative community behind them. It’s art, engineering, and business — all at once.
If you’re a maker at heart and want to learn how to turn creative ideas into physical products, we’d love to hear from you.
